My Bravia TV (KDF-50E3000)

My Bravia TV (KDF-50E3000) has been powering down every 2 minutes then restarting in about 1 minute. Does anyone have an idea what is going on or how to fix the problem.

Hi dnick,

Welcome to the Sony Community!

You may want to check your TVs sleep timer setting. It might have been activated. You may refer to the TVs https://docs.sony.com/release/KDF-E3000.pdf, page 31, to navigate to the timer setting.

And may I just ask, when the TV restarts, have you noticed the light indicators in front of the TV? Are they lit up and flashing? If yes, which one lights up? If you notice the light indicators flashing red lights, please count how many times they blink. You can check this https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32192/c/65,66/ about the blinking lights.

You may also want to try to reset the TV to its factory settings.

  1. Turn on the TV.
  2. While holding the UP arrow button on the remote control, press the POWER button on the TV.

The TV will turn itself off and on again and you should see the initial setup after it turns on.

If my post answers your question, please mark it as "Accept as Solution"

There are no red lights flashing and I have turned the sleep mode off. It still does the same thing. It just turns off after approximately 2 minutes and then comes back on in about 1 min. I have went through the steps of a restart and it continues. The picture is fine for the 2 minutes it's on. It's almost like it is shutting down cooling off and restarting on its own. I even tried putting on high altitude mode so the fan runs faster but nothing has worked.
