Turn off Touchpad When Mouse Plugged In -- VGN-N220E

Post » Sun Jan 16, 2011 2:20 pm

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio laptop (model VGN-N220E). How do I set it so the touchpad turns off while an external mouse is plugged in?

Thanks.

Hello,
Unfortunately you cannot Disable the built in Touchpad. however if it is erratic, or closing windows, or moving text. check to see if it has a Tapping and function tab. its possible windows has replaced it with the Generic Default USB mouse driver.

Reinstall the Notebook Control utility
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNN220E&upd_id=2411&os_id=28
and the Shared library
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNN220E&upd_id=2383&os_id=28

If still its acting erratic and tapping and Functionality are present, you can disable Doubletap and Web Assistant (Scroll)
