Burning 3-4 CD's, then reads corrupted data

Post » Mon Dec 16, 2013 1:59 pm

Every 3-4 disks are becoming coasters. I can burn 3-4 disks using CDA5.2d and then get and error stating the data on Line 2151 is corrupted. I close the program and restart and the same thing happens. I have tried lowering the speed, enabling and disabling buffer underrun protection, updated latest firmware for LG burner model GE20, running Win7 32-bit. No compatibility errors from Win7 ever.
An error occurred reading data from a file on the system. Make sure that you have access to all data files needed to write this disc

Any ideas why this happens? Email me or post a response... thanks!

Is this 3 or 4 disks in a short time ? Sounds to me like a temperature-related fault in you CD writer, which then sends some sort of corrupted interaction to CDA. What happens with a similar burning scenario in other apps ?

Thanks for the reply. It only happens in CDArchitect. Say I have to burn 10 CD's. Every 3-4 it happens. Could be heat I guess, but it happens on the same Line # every time.

That line number may be where CDA is waiting for a response from the CDR or HDD, and receives an invalid one because of, say, temperature.

Have you officially logged the problem ?

I've had worse today, one successful burn out of a dozen, using two different media, all top quality, Maxell & Verbatim, now almost a dozen coasters, trying different ways to get around it. Other software is working just fine, but CD Architect is spoiling disks and raising my frustration and ire. Yes, I have reported it, but as they are busy this was one option offered, but I see there's no answer to be found here. At least I have other software that works... Maybe they will eventually get to my report and guide me to a resolution...

Update: ALL the cheap and free burning software we have has just been tested and used to SUCCESSFULLY burn the same damned thing Sony's CD Architect REPEATEDLY spoils... These were not cheap disks either, nor is Sony's software, especially aggravating as it isn't working and has wasted time and disks ~ GRRRRR!!!

Eleven CDs spoiled by CD Architect, while others like Nero and RealPlayer are having no problems at all. What's up? Here's the information ~ 8 Maxell XL-II 80 blank CD-Rs spoiled, 3 Verbatim 52x Super Anzio Azo CD-R spoiled. Burn Disc-At-Once Audio CD, set low, 8x, successfully burns the lead-in, begins to burn the tracks and then FAILS!?! ~

A write error occured. The disc may be dirty or corrupted. [ OK ]

You can press the details button for further information. [ Details >> ]

And here are those results ~

Try changing the Temp file location in Options|Preferences, maybe even to a different physical drive.

Is the data on the same drive as the OS/Apps ? Do you have AV or file indexing software running ?

There are hundreds of people out there for which this ISN'T happening ....

This "Module sfmmcx.cpp Line 2151" error has been happening to me on windows 8.1 pro 64bit CDA5.2d latest where ALL other burning programs have no issue. Changed drives and media, re-installed CDA same problem.

Any suggestions?
